the care I provide. I offer flexible appointments

Oral Hygiene Assessment & Oral Cancer Screening

Assessments are conducted at the start of every appointment. This includes a hypertension screening, oral cancer screening, an evaluation of oral hygiene, and an assessment of the risk for cavities. Periodontal measurements are completed annually or biannually.

Adult Prophylaxis (Cleaning)

When it comes to oral hygiene, regular brushing and flossing may not be enough to remove plaque buildup and tarter above the gum line, this is why it is important to have your teeth cleaned. Dental prophylaxis is a preventive cleaning procedure that can help eliminate this buildup and prevent further complications. However, this procedure is not recommended for patients with significant sub-gingival deposits, and bleeding gums with periodontal pockets over 4mm. If you are a suitable candidate for dental prophylaxis, it is recommended that you schedule a healthy recall visit every six months to maintain good oral health.

Scaling and Root Planing

When it comes to dental hygiene, a deep cleaning procedure, also known as scaling and root planing, is essential. It involves removing plaque, tartar, and bacteria from below the gum line in periodontal pockets that are 5mm and above. This helps prevent the progression of periodontal disease and ultimately, tooth loss. While there is no cure for periodontal disease, the deep cleaning procedure and frequent periodontal maintenance can help control most patients' conditions.

Oral Hygiene Instruction and Nutritional Counseling

Individualized oral hygiene instructions are provided based on the specific needs of each person. For mobile patients receiving in-home care, I provide correspondence and guidance to their caretakers and family members. Nutritional counseling is offered to patients who exhibit risk factors of decay and erosion. Good diet and nutrition can help prevent and reduce the risk of oral diseases.

In-Home Mobile Care

As an RDHAP, I am licensed to provide dental hygiene care to patients in the comfort of their own homes. This service is specifically designed for those who find it difficult to access dental care in a traditional office setting. My mobile dental unit is brought directly into your home for ease and convenience while still offering the same level of compassion and professional care received in a dental office.

Fluoride Application

Topical fluoride is a treatment that is applied to teeth to help strengthen enamel and prevent cavities. It also helps with tooth sensitivity. Fluoride works by remineralizing enamel and inhibiting bacterial metabolism, which reduces the growth of plaque bacteria. This treatment is recommended for patients who are at high risk for cavities, tooth sensitivity, and recession.

Product Recommendation

Choosing the right product from various options available on the market can be a challenging task. From electric toothbrushes to waterpiks, floss, and toothpaste for cavities and sensitivity, it's crucial to understand the individual needs of each client before recommending any product.

Periodontal Maintenance

Periodontal maintenance is a type of cleaning that is crucial for patients who have undergone periodontal treatment, such as scaling and root planing (surgical or nonsurgical). Since the bacteria that leads to periodontal disease tend to repopulate every ninety days, a more frequent recall is necessary to help maintain and prevent further disease and destruction. To focus on the problem areas, it is recommended to have periodontal maintenance every three to four months
